"Aren't Assisted Living Facilities Expensive?"

Now answering the question about how affordable we are varies, because really it depends on how much care you or your loved one needs. But we are half to one third the price of larger independent or assisted living facilities. (We wont name names)

The first step is to have an assessment done. I will come to you, or you can stop by the house and have an assessment done while you tour. Together we will go through a State of Michigan assessment to assess your care needs. Questions are geared towards what you can do for yourself, what you need help with, as well as HOW we can help you. Everyone has individual abilities so we need to know as much as possible about you to determine your level of care.

I want you think about the cost of all of these services we offer individually:

--A caregiver: Usually a trained caregiver can charge on average anywhere from 15-25 dollars an hour. (Check out care . com or other sites to compare) Here, we have 24/7 care! This means you will always have someone trained in CPR/first aid available to watch out for your loved one and keep them safe--at all times. Even with in home care services, your loved one is often left alone after 2 or 3 hours, which can cause depression, anxiety, and not to mention the health and safety risks. Only 3 hours of care would cost your loved one $45 a DAY. That's $1,350.00 per month for only 3 hours of care a day!

--Cleaning service: usually on average it costs anywhere from 20-25 dollars an HOUR for cleaning services and to clean your mom and dad's whole house would be quite expensive. Here, its all included. Why pay someone 40-50 dollars for one day of cleaning when here its included, every single day.

--Medication management: Some nursing homes and care facilities charge you BY THE NUMBER OF MEDS. Here at Lake House, its all included! We will help your loved one to manage their medications, as well as having a pharmacy deliver their medications right to our home, so your loved one doesn't have to worry about ever mismanaging or running out of meds again. All they have to pay is the copay for their medications. Not to mention most home health aides cannot administer medications, only remind individuals to take them.

--A personal chef: Did you know that a private chef costs on average 60,000 dollars a YEAR?! Not including the cost of groceries. Now while I hardly thing of myself as a professional, my residents in the past have told me my cooking is good, and we'll cater to your loved one specific dietary needs, as well as snacks. Also, we partner with Serendipity Acres to give your loved ones ORGANIC produce. All of this is included in our affordable price.

--Transportation: We want your loved one to feel connected to the community. So we plan trips to local businesses and stores, as well as fun activities in and around Lakeview. Shuttle buses or community transport such as Dial-a-ride is $2.50 per way. And this transportation is limited. Here, we make outings a regular occurrence for your loved one, at no additional cost to you.

--Furnished room/home: Did you know the average price of a FURNISHED studio apartment can cost anywhere from $750-$1500 in Michigan? (And that isn't even including heat, a/c, cable, internet, phone, water, gas, trash, or electric!)

At Lake House, we have fully furnished private/semi private rooms available. Plus everything mentioned above is included! Our house is newly renovated and all of our furniture brand new. Not to mention we have two rooms with en suite bathrooms, with grab bars for peace of mind. We have an open lower floor plan for ease of access.

Lastly, think about how much it costs for PEACE OF MIND: We know that is priceless. We are a family who has been in this business for 5 years, and I have run 3 licensed homes as an administrator for 4 of those years. We are background checked and finger printed, and working on becoming licensed through the state of Michigan. We want to adopt your loved one into our family and not have them just be another "resident" but be a part of our home. That's what sets Lake House apart. We're where caring meets family.
